Matthew is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, where he was a regional champion as a member of the school's nationally recognized mock trial team. During law school, Matthew gained experience on both sides of civil litigation by working as a law clerk with a personal injury firm and with a major insurance carrier.

Prior to joining Sutter O’Connell, Matthew gained invaluable trial experience as an associate attorney for a creditors’ rights firm in Youngstown, Ohio where he represented creditors and landlords in cases, hearings, mediations and other proceedings all over Ohio. He also oversaw many of the day to day operations of the firm’s fifteen employees.

Matthew is member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and Mahoning County Bar Association. Matthew also is a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee where he is responsible for investigating alleged acts constituting the unauthorized practice of law.
