After a 10-day trial, a Cuyahoga County jury awarded over $42 million to two plaintiffs who suffered severe brain injuries in an automobile accident.  According to Cleveland.com, the verdict may be one of the largest in the county’s history.  The plaintiffs sued the driver of the Honda in which they were passengers and the driver of a dump truck.  The jury found the driver of the dump truck liable and assessed no liability to the driver of the Honda.  In a related criminal case, however, the driver of the Honda pleaded guilty to negligent assault in connection with the accident.  The driver received probation for six months.
