DayJoy Day is the managing shareholder of our Tennessee office. She is admitted to the state and federal bars of Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. During her fifteen years of practice, Joy has represented clients in all types of civil litigation: products liability, trucking and automobile liability, medical malpractice, general liability, and insurance defense matters. Her experience from trying dozens of cases has resulted in her becoming one of only 14 female lawyers in the State of Tennessee to be certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. Joy is also certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

In 2006, the Tennessee Supreme Court appointed Joy to the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization, which she currently serves as Chair. Joy also serves as the Secretary for the Tennessee Supreme Court Historical Society and contributes her time as a board member of the Youth Advisory Court. Joy is a founding member of Belmont University's American Inn of Court and is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator. Selected as a Mid-South Super Lawyer in 2009 and 2010, Joy holds an "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell.

 

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Joy is a fervent Volunteer football fan. Her spare time, always at a premium, usually finds her skiing and boating at Tim’s Ford Lake with her husband and daughter.
